We are looking for a highly relational and visionary leader to direct our office in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Job Duties
- The Country Director provides overall vision, management, and leadership to the ministry’s activities in the country. This person builds relationships, pours into staff, and brings wisdom and guidance to various situations and areas.
- The position requires commitment and understanding of the Samaritan’s Purse Mission and Statement of Faith, as well as agreement and compliance with the Samaritan’s Purse statement of faith and policies.
- The Country Director will provide professional representation for SP with government officials, dignitaries, other NGOs, funding agencies, and visitors.
- This role monitors potential and present emergencies and keeps International Headquarters informed of events, including crisis response options. The Country Direct conducts and guides field assessments, identifies needs, designs and implements response plans, including project budgets and writing funding proposals.
- This role manages several supervisors who lead a number of employees in various areas. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems, and implements organizational structure.
- The Country Director is expected to maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.

Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different educational, linguistic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Looking for someone with a diverse background in humanitarian aid
- Cheerful … an encourager, concern for the spiritual well-being of the team
- Spiritual maturity; ability to keep the focus of work on the overall goal of sharing the Gospel
- Financial management and experience with large budgets and portfolios
- Proven management and leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ related international work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.

Language Requirement: English Fluency is required. French is highly preferred.
