As the Events Coordinator at AmCham Belgium, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of event organization, from design to delivery and follow-up. Events are one of the most important touchpoints with our members, and your goal is to deliver value and create a delightful experience for them. We organize more than 35 public events per year, online and physical, from topical webinars to walking dinners, in addition to a large number of internal meetings. You will work across teams, as events are at the intersection of member experience, external relations and operations.
AmCham Belgium is a non-profit membership organization and one of the largest and most influential business organizations in the country. Founded in 1948, we have around 450 members who together strive for a more competitive and prosperous Belgium. We do this by representing our members in the public debate and by organizing all kinds of events to offer networking opportunities and a platform to share knowledge, best practices and issues affecting our members.
What you will really be doing
  • Developing an events plan around the organization’s main themes and target audiences
  • Co-creating events with and for our members
  • Marketing our events (pre- and post), particularly through digital channels
  • Administering events in our IT systems (CRM, website, etc.)
  • Liaising with event partners (venues, caterers, content providers, etc.)
  • Identifying member companies to sponsor events
  • Ensuring the smooth rollout of events from a practical/logistical perspective
  • Collecting feedback from guests to improve future events
  • Managing an intern, who will support you in all aspects of event organization
Experience/Skills
  • 2-3 years of experience in events/conference organization or other relevant professional field
  • Strong communication skills in English, as well as the ability to communicate with tact and accuracy. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is an asset.
  • Tech savvy, with the ability to learn new systems and software quickly
  • Familiar with online meeting and event platforms (Zoom, Teams, Hopin…)
  • Digital marketing (email, web, social) and the ability to create attractive visuals
  • You are a natural ‘people person’ – you will become a familiar face for guests at our events, and you will build strong, lasting relationships with members and partners.

  • Creative and curious
  • You have a valid driving license (own car not required)

  • A 6 months full-time contract, leading to a permanent contract.
