London, with frequent global travel

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an inspirational leader with experience in the global NGO/Charity environment to work with a highly committed and engaged Board and talented staff team to advance peace and help make the world a better place. Now over 30 years old, International Alert is a well-established global advocate with on-the-ground presence in the peacebuilding sector.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director is responsible for leadership of the institution and providing strategic direction for all peacebuilding activities across the globe. As an ambassador for International Alert in the UK and internationally, this role will interact with key players in government, intergovernmental organisations, the private sector and civil society.

We are seeking someone with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with proven capacity to develop influential external relationships. Dynamic, passionate and with a supportive leadership style; you will bring a strong track record of leading dispersed teams; fostering a high-performing culture; driving organisational change and growing income. Critically, you will share our commitment to advancing peace on a global scale.
