The MSF Financial Manager defines, coordinates and monitors the implementation and management of financial strategies, policies, internal control and all financial, administrative and legal matters in the mission to provide transparent, accurate, timely and reliable financial information.
Responsibility
- The Financial Manager is an active member of the Mission Coordination Team (MCT), which contributes to mission objective definitions and strategic plans regarding Finance
- Define, assess and mitigate the financial risks of the mission by ensuring a relevant implementation of the mission and a reliable internal control system
- Ensure proper implementation and compliance with MSF policies and guidelines, ensuring that they are aligned with legal requirements and within the legal framework
- Manage funding arrangements with donors, for example by coordinating and preparing proposals and financial reports to donors and managing donor contracts
- Coordinate and ensure the efficient management of the treasury, including the entire accounting of the mission, in order to ensure the smooth running of operations at all times and the maximum possible control over security risks
- Provide regular and adequate indicators to monitor the financial health of the mission and provide relevant cost analysis, expense vs budget monitoring and variance analysis, suggesting corrective actions when necessary
- Participate in the planning and implementation of processes associated with human resources (recruitment, training, briefing / debriefing, evaluation, identification of potential, development and communication) of the staff under their responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge necessary to correctly carry out all the finance activities related to your area
- Coordinate and supervise the monthly and annual closing of the account
Indispensable requirements
- Degree in Economics or Finance

Essential four years of work experience in budget management English, Spanish and / or Portuguese, French: level C1 Availability of 12 months Preferential requirements

Previous experience with other NGOs or work experience in developing countries in similar coordinating positions

Other desirable languages: Arabic level B2 Desirable master’s degree MBA
