The Grant and Reporting Officer provides her/his support to the mission on fundraising, reporting, coordination, and communication, in assistance to the Program Coordinator. The Grant and Reporting Officer works under direct supervision of the Program Coordinator and in close relation with Project Managers and the Field Coordinator.

He/she assumes the following responsibilities:

Fundraising support at mission level:

  • In cooperation with the Country Director and the Program Coordinator, she/he ensures an active monitoring on funding opportunities at national level, especially through participation to clusters**
  • For each proposal, she/he ensures the proper understanding of donors’ guidelines among the team participating to the writing of the project proposition
  • She/ he participates within the mission in the elaboration and writing of project proposals (both in French and English), including logical framework and annexes, in coordination with the Country Director, the Field and Program Coordinators as well as Project Managers. In this regard, the Grant and Reporting Officer can take part in some discussions with TGH’s technical partners.

Coordination of ongoing projects narrative reports elaboration

  • She/he works in accordance with the reporting schedule updated by the desk at HQ level
  • She/he ensures the availability and consistency, from Project Managers, of the necessary data and information allowing the elaboration of reports, in accordance with the original project proposal or previous reports.
  • She/he ensures compliance of reports with donors guidelines (structure, content, layout), in coordination with the Country Director and Program Coordinator(s).
  • She/he compiles and finalises the writing of narrative reports and their appendices (both in French and English) in coordination with Project Managers and Program Coordinator(s).
  • She/he takes part in field visits, in order to properly understand the different implemented projects and their related context

Participation to internal and external coordination

  • She/he prepares agendas and minutes of Erbil internal coordination meetings and ensures the follow-up of the defined action points
  • She/he ensures TGH’s representation in close link with the Program Coordinator, at coordination and cluster meetings. Aside from these meetings, she/he is in charge of managing the external information flow between TGH and the different clusters
  • She/he ensures operational documents archiving at the mission level
  • She/he participates to the definition and implementation of country strategy

Contribution to creating and updating communication tools

  • She/he answers to headquarters requests regarding communication by contributing to newsletters, website update, and to the annual activity report
  • She/he ensures regular transmission of photos and their publications on TGH social networks, in coordination with the Program Coordinator
  • She/he takes part in meetings and communication events at national level


  • She/he supports the Country Director and the Program Coordinator on an ad hoc basis on some cross-cutting topics.

This list of responsibilities could be modified according to the needs in the field.

Security, working and living conditions

Despite the unstable political context in Iraq and KRI, the KRI region is generally safe and current TGH areas of operation in Federal Iraq are considered safe.

Erbil city is safe, and there are no restrictions of movement within the city. Much entertainment is available such as restaurants, sport centres, parks, supermarkets, cinema etc. Trips to the countryside are possible at weekends with prior validation by HoM. Security rules may be revised according to the evolution of the context.

Working and living conditions in Erbil are good. Communication means are satisfying (efficient internet, international phones). The office is separated from the guesthouses. Individual rooms are available for each expatriate.

Operations in Dohuk, Suleymaniya are subject to the same security condition as for Erbil.
Baghdad and Mosul: due to the security environment, international staff movements are strictly limited and under tracking. No movements allowed between 10:00pm – 6:00am beyond the TGH compound. Outside working hours, movements by car are authorized up to 10:00 pm to the validated “go” areas. Only TGH validated taxis can be used by international staff (common taxis forbidden).


  • University level degree, preferably a Master degree in project management or political studies.
  • Experience in grants management and knowledge of procedures of main donor agencies: ECHO, European Union, OFDA, DFID, AFD, UN Agencies or others.
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and under pressure
  • Autonomy, flexibility and rigor.
  • Developed skills for organization, multitasking and tasks prioritization
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English. Preferably competent user of French spoken and written.
  • Experience in the Middle East and knowledge of Arabic and/or Kurdish language a distinct advantage
  • Proficient user of MS Office pack. Knowledge on data treatment and GIS software will be positively considered.
  • Good sense of humour
