Grants & Contracts Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Global G&C Director, in this role, you will oversee the administration of a portfolio of US government and other funder awards, to include start-up, implementation, and close-out activities.

This position is remote due to Covid-19, but you will be based at WRI’s office in Washington, DC once restrictions have lifted.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day grant and contract administration of US government-funded awards, including USAID, Department of State, and other agencies
  • Review partner organizational assessments and develop monitoring plans based on a high, medium or low risk categorization
  • Ensure that through the life of a subgrant, project staff have the tools and information to ensure proper administration and compliance with funder requirements
  • Work with Program staff to plan high-integrity procurements and establish contracts that ensure value for money
  • Maintain and enhance the subrecipient monitoring system and and work with G&C and program staff to ensure timely collection and review of all subgrantee audits
  • Provide training to program staff on the accurate selection of agreement type, and preparation of Requests for Proposals, agreements and amendments
  • Ensure that the closeout of subgrants is timely and efficient; that all required documents are obtained and filed; and that subgrantee files meet legal and auditing requirements
  • Review and approve or reject grant, contract, and amendment requests, as appropriate
  • Help maintain and update Grants & Contracts systems, processes, and procedures
  • Identify opportunities or areas for innovation and improvement to review with G&C Director

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree, or Grant/Contract Administration certificate, (Bachelor’s degree with 2 additional years of relevant experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant full-time work experience
  • Knowledge and experience with work under US Government funding, and compliance with 2 CFR 200 and FAR. Familiarity with FFATA and AIDAR desirable
  • Prior experience managing staff or a function
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to deadlines and detail-oriented, particularly with respect to donor agreements, contracts and other legal documents
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Salesforce and/or SharePoint experience
  • US work authorization required for this position

Potential Salary: $79,000 – $106,000 if based in our Washington DC office. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors
