Did you know that Transport & Environment has shaped some of Europe’s most important environmental laws? In recent years, T&E got the EU to set the world’s most ambitious CO2 standards for cars and trucks but also helped uncover the Dieselgate scandal. We secured a global ban on dirty shipping fuels and the creation of the world’s biggest carbon market for aviation – just to name a few. All this while coordinating projects and grants from international funders, cooperating with many colleagues across exciting policy topics, including 6 national offices across Europe. We’re now looking to hire a highly motivated person to join our operations team and help us to achieve even greater change in the future.
Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the grants manager will support the policy teams in the successful planning and execution of all of Transport & Environment’s grants. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with international funders and in managing project partnerships, have a keen eye for detail and is highly organised. They will be an energetic and enthusiastic team-player with at least five years of experience working within an NGO grant management environment. Some knowledge of EU and/or transport and environment issues would be a plus.

Working with the senior director of operations, principal duties and responsibilities of the position will involve:
- Ensuring day-to-day follow-up of project and grants admin deliverables;
- Acting as liaison between policy teams and funders;
- Ensuring high quality and timely grant reporting in coordination with the finance director;
- Scoping out for new funders and establishing relationships;
- Coordinating funding proposals across the whole organisation, ensuring high quality outputs; and
- Supporting policy teams in analysing funding needs;
- Contribute to in-house and donor reporting.
Skills and competences required:
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills;
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high quality proposals and reports;
- Experience in project management (with international partners is an asset) and in grant management;
- Ability to synthesize key information;
- Ability to coordinate with different teams and colleagues in the organisation.
- High proficiency in English is essential. Other European languages are a plus. Where appropriate, language training will be made available to improve proficiency.
