How can you make a difference?

The Technology for Development Manager who reports to the Deputy Representative, Operations with a technical reporting line to the Regional Chief of ICT and matrix management/dotted line to the Deputy Representative, Programme, will be responsible for the following key functions:

  1. Foster innovation and technology for development, and oversee piloting, evidence generation and scaling of priority T4D and Innovation initiatives.
  2. Enhance ICT, T4D and Innovation governance, collaboration, build internal and external relationships and capacity.
  3. Excellence in ICT services and systems to create an enabling environment for the release and management of organizational ICT services to UCO staff.
  4. Improve results delivery. 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree is required in computer science, software engineering, information technology management, business administration, or another relevant technical field.  A first-level university degree in a relevant field combined with ten years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree
  • A minimum of eight years of professional experience in information technology management and business operations in a large international organization and/or corporation is required. Experience in a UN organization is an asset. Experience leading (behavior) change management initiatives is an asset
  • Certification and/or proven experience in one or more of these several ICT4D technical competencies: ICT4D Project Management, Business Analytics, Business Relationship Management, Information Security, ICT4D Audit and Risk Management, Telecommunications, Networks Information Security and Software Engineering and Programming. Formal project management certification (PRINCE II, ITIL, etc.) is an asset.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
