Job description:

We are looking for a Junior Digital Policy Manager, whose main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out WFA outreach and advocacy activities on digital policy issues at EU level.
  • Developing WFA policy positions and amendments on key digital policy files such as the Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act and the ePrivacy Regulation.
  • Organising and coordinating digital policy meetings for WFA members (Digital Governance Exchange, Policy Action Group) in Brussels and abroad (when travel resumes).
  • Monitoring digital policy issues at EU and global level and keeping members up to date on developments (e.g. by drafting email updates, newsletters, preparing and giving presentations at meetings, writing briefings, leading webinars).
  • Coordinating WFA involvement in voluntary and self-regulatory policy and industry initiatives such as the EU Code of Practice on Disinformation.
  • Identifying new and emerging digital policy issues which could be relevant for WFA members at global and EU level.
  • Representing WFA at industry and policy events.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working on EU policy issues, preferably in Brussels, and a track record of leading advocacy and outreach with policymakers.
  • A good understanding of and interest in digital policy is essential. Prior experience working on platform regulation or privacy would be a bonus.
  • A keen interest in and good understanding of digital marketing.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Very high (fluent) level of written and spoken English.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a multicultural profile, ideally speaking one or more additional language.
  • Be a results-driven self-starter, able to take initiative and lead projects largely autonomously.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.

About the team

Our policy team is small and agile. We work with our members at global and EU level to lead advocacy work on policy issues related to marketing, provide strategic advice and guidance for members, and foster dialogue with policymakers on emerging issues which could impact advertising. The Junior Digital Policy Manager will report into the Digital Policy Manager and the Director of Policy and Communications. The role is based in Brussels, but international travel will be required once it resumes.
