Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies 1 million smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. On average, our farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

About the Role

The goal of the Kenya Innovation Lab is to double the number of clients One Acre Fund serves, increase impact, and improve sustainability. Currently, the Innovation Lab is working on multiple early stage projects such as piloting new market access programs, researching new impactful products, building credit scoring capabilities, and testing out new program models.

We are looking for an Innovation Project Lead to manage one or more a high priority projects. You’ll report to the Innovation Manager and be involved in all phases of project management, from design to execution to evaluation. For example, you will:

  • Revamp One Acre Fund’s sales strategy
  • Use A/B testing to assess different incentive structures
  • Create a home delivery system to allow farmers to access the products they need right at their doorstep
  • Propose additional programmatic changes to increase One Acre Fund’s value proposition

Responsibilities

  • Manage innovations aimed at improving customer experience and program impact
  • Coordinate with other teams and partners to create new services for farmers
  • Use Human Centered Design to learn from customers
  • Scale successful new interventions
  • Directly manage 1-3 reports and invest in their professional growth

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • 3+ years of experience managing complex projects and coordinating across multiple teams
  • Experience using customer insights to design solutions
  • Experience assessing project outcomes and making data-driven recommendations
  • Experience mentoring others and supporting them to achieve their professional goals
  • An ability set goals and take ownership of driving towards them
  • Enthusiasm for learning, feedback, and improvement
  • Commitment to building an inclusive and diverse team culture
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • English required; Kiswahili preferred

This role will be based in Kakamega with up to 25% remote allocation in a location of choice.
