In order to respond to the shifting issues and dynamics of the current situation in Venezuela, including the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucial that the UNICEF Venezuela Country Office (CO) continues to strengthen its communication footprint. To create compelling public-facing content and to provide digital and multimedia services within the organization is crucial to achieve this goal.

Through multiple platforms and languages (Spanish and English), the CO Communication Unit draws attention to the many facets of UNICEF’s work in the country, encouraging public support, participation, and action, as well as ensuring greater transparency and accountability.

How can you make a difference?

• Under the direction of the Communications Specialist, coordinate with numerous people throughout the organization to personally research, structure, develop, assemble and produce multimedia (text, images, audio, video, interactive, etc.) coverage packages for breaking news, scheduled events and other content areas related to UNICEF Programs in Venezuela.
• Develop multimedia packages on a quick turnaround, under tight and variable deadlines for social media and other online and broadcast platforms.
• Write from scratch, rewrite, sub-edit and edit content (including news stories, features, captions, blurbs etc.) from a variety of sources, in keeping with UNICEF editorial style.
• Shoot and edit video and web material as needed for UNICEF Venezuela priority communications.
• Undertake UNICEF video production and post-production, including web clips, audio editing and managing media for Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut After FX, Pro Tools and related technologies.
• Provide additional support to the Technical Specialist in overseeing all video post-production and equipment service, planning and related support to the Communication team.
• Work on UNICEF Venezuela premises, with frequent visit to Field Offices and UNICEF projects in the ground; and serve as UNICEF Venezuela in-house videographer as required.
• Conduct recorded interviews; manage audio files in a variety of formats.
• Work with video files in multiple formats.
• Work with other file formats as necessary, including Flash, PDF etc.
• Produce these packages into final, published content on the UNICEF website within a content management system environment.
• Gather information on an on-going basis; gain a thorough understanding of the organization; be extremely well-informed on international current events.
•Availability to work on weekends and/or travel.
•Have the necessary equipment to record and edit videos.
• Availability to travel as required for video production related to UNICEF Venezuela priorities throughout the year.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

•Bachelor of journalism and/or other related studies.
•3 years of experience working on multi-lingual projects (Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is a must)
•3 years of experience developing content for multimedia platforms, including social media.
•3 years of experience using motion graphics.
•3 years of experience writing creative scripts and producing video
•3 years of experience in working within a web content management system.
•3 years of experience in video production and editing content for social engagement.
•Knowledge of digital platforms, engagement and strategy.
•Skilled in shooting and sound recording.
•Skilled in the following industry tools: Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut, After FX and Pro Tools.
•Timeliness, accuracy and efficiency.
•Familiarity with international development issues is a plus.

Economic Proposal: 

Individuals interested in the consulting opportunity must submit an All-Inclusive economic proposal detailing the daily and monthly fee, and the daily fee to cover field trips to be carried out according to the following schedule:

– 5 nights in San Cristóbal, Edo. Táchira

– 5 nights in Maracaibo, Edo. Zulia.

– 5 nights in Ciudad Guayana, Edo. Bolívar. 

The consultant must have an insurance and is responsible for the arrangement of their field trips (mobility, lodging, meals, etc.) and the expenses will be reimbursed after the presentation of the corresponding receipt.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
