The COVAX Unit in the Vaccine Centre, Supply Division is being created to lead activities related to UNICEF role as Procurement coordinator, as well as Procurement agency, on behalf of the COVAX Facility.

How Can You Make a Difference?

Under the supervision of the Contracts Manager, the Procurement Associate performs all procurement activities related to COVID 19 response, in compliance with the UNICEF Financial Rules and Regulations, Supply Division Manual and other applicable procurement procedures.

The Procurement Associates will be responsible for providing support to external and internal communications; taking minutes of meetings, follow ups with countries and suppliers, assistance for a segment of products in Vaccine Centre providing effective services to customers, ensuring accurate and timely processing of Requisitions and requests up to the completion and closure of the order, with the overall goal of contributing to the work of the unit and success of the project and meeting the needs and requirements of the customers.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Under the supervision of a Senior Contracts Manager, the Procurement Associates performs all procurement activities in compliance with the UNICEF Financial Rules and Regulations, Supply Division Manual and other applicable procurement procedures including:

  1. Supports contracts management to ensure supplier compliance to LTA’s and purchase order terms and conditions.
  2. Supports activities related to issuance of tender, evaluates quotations, clarifies offers, and negotiates with suppliers as appropriate.
  3. Ensures documentation of the process and works closely with partners and country offices on issues of long term forecasting of quantities and planning of funding.
  4. Supports coordinated planning of procurement and demand of vaccines during pandemic seasons.
  5. Supports the expediting of purchase orders working closely with the Logistics Unit
  6. Support establishment of work plans and priorities and ensures progress as per the plan.
  7. Any other duties or assignments as requested by the supervisor

To qualify as a Champion for every Child you will have…

Required:

  • Completion of secondary education
  • A minimum six years relevant working experience, preferably in a procurement function in a commercial fast-paced working environment.
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, Word, Excel and Power point,
  • Valid work permit and residency in Denmark at the time of submitting the application. Note that the selected candidate is responsible for obtaining any required extension of their residency permit as an extension cannot be dependent on an employment with UNICEF.

Desirable:

  • Technical or University level courses in business related subjects
  • Experience with procurement of medicines, vaccines or health products
  • Proficiency in an additional UN language (Russian, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, French)
