Background
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
As the custodian of the project and programme management function, the Programme Support Management Unit (PSMU) leads development of project and programme management policies, strengthening of corporate project and programme management capacities, and provides increased support to the field and headquarters in non-core project and programme implementation to ensure that UN Women has project management policies, capacities and tools for delivering results on GEWE.
PSMU offers the Regional Offices (ROs) and Country Offices (COs) a range of services, trainings and toolkits that increase their implementation capacity to deliver programmes on time, on scope and on budget. PSMU has established corporate Tools such as the Country Office Assessment Tool, PPID Performance Matrix, etc. to support oversight on key indictors on a periodic basis. As part of its partner management policy, procedure and assurance function, PSMU is also responsible for conducting annual assurance exercise of programme partners and in ensuring that the recommendations from the programme partner audits are implemented.
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of PSMU and direct supervision of the Manager – Programme Support, the Programme Support Consultant will play a proactive role in the data generation, analysis, and graphical representation of some of PSMU’s routine oversight as well as dedicated follow up, review and oversight over closure of the partner audit financial findings for previous years.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support Oversight of PPID and Field Offices
Data generation, collection, analysis and graphical representation for PSMU’s weekly, monthly, quarterly or adhoc (need-based frequency) oversight Tools and donor specific portfolio monittoring
Creation of Templates for auto-generation of these graphical representations for future oversight
Data generation, collection, analysis and graphical representation for donor specific portfolio.
Support project data clean-up
Support to Resolution of Partner Audit Financial Findings
Maintain a database of status of implementation of partner audit financial findings
Follow up with the Business Units (Country/Regional Offices or HQ Divisions) on closure of partner audit financial findings
Coordinate with the auditors or HQ Quality Assurance Team for resolution of financial findings, as required.

Functional Competencies:

Creation and analysis of data for monitoring effective implementation of programmes/ projects which capture the strategic priorities of UN Women;
Timely sharing of pertinent information, inputs and analysis with the Chief for timely action and follow-up by the Director of Policy Programme and Intergovernmental Division
Effective coordination of stakeholders to ensure priorities are achieved;
Timely and quality development of presentation materials;
Timely and quality input to meetings and strategic discussions.
Required Skills and Experience
Education and certification:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Arts or Sciences.
Specialized certifications in Microsoft Excel and Data Generation and Data Analytics would be an asset.
Experience:
Three years of experience in data generation, analysis, graphical representation
UN system experience with ATLAS experience is an asset
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is required
