The EFMD International Projects department, composed of 4 full-time members, coordinates the participation of EFMD in EU-funded and international projects. EFMD currently manages a wide portfolio of projects in the fields of capacity building, entrepreneurship and digital transition in higher education. EFMD is looking for a temporary project manager; maternity leave replacement for 8 months. The selected candidate will be in charge of the following tasks:

  • Project management, quality assurance, technical and financial reporting for the EU-funded projects that EFMD participates.
  • Supervision of the project activities and contacts with partners (ensure that the EFMD tasks are done and submitted on time and be the contact point for the partners when they request information).
  • Organisation of meetings and events (presentations, content, minutes and logistics).
  • General support and assistance for the submission of new projects, including redaction and/or budgeting.

Skills and competencies

  • University degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Economics, Political Science or similar.
  • At least three years of experience in project management of EU-funded projects.
  • Required fluent written and oral English (level C2 according to the CEFR).
  • Very good command of computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and knowledge of online working tools (Asana, Slack).
  • Accurate, well organised, flexible and able to work under minimal supervision in a multi-task and international environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, very good writing, editing and drafting skills.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with the field of higher education (current trends in the management of HE institutions, quality assurance systems for HE, funding for HE etc) is an asset.

Terms and Conditions

  • Temporary position (maternity leave replacement – 8 months), based at the EFMD office in Brussels, Belgium. Some travel might be required.
  • If permitted by the sanitary situation, office work will be preferred to distance working.  The candidate is expected to work predominantly at the EFMD office in Brussels, in particular the first months and the induction period.
  • Financial conditions are decided based on the candidate’s profile and professional experience.
  • Please note that the candidates must be legally authorised to work in the EU.

The first round of interviews will be organised face to face at the EFMD office in Brussels, on 28 and 29 June 2021. The second round will be organised online, on 5-9 July 2021. The preferred starting date is 1st of September 2021.
