Project Manager – Medical Services


The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as theProject Manager – Medical Services in London or at any existing Save the Children International office location.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organisation for children, celebrating its 100 years in 2019 as a US$2bn dollar organisation with 25,000 staff in 117 countries – health and nutrition programs being the largest component of its global activity.

One of our 2030 Ambitions is to inspire a breakthrough for child survival – that no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday. This role will play an instrumental role in contributing to achieving this breakthrough by contributing to strengthen Save the Children’s medical services globally. 

As a core member of the Global Medical Team (GMT), the Project Manager will lead on effective planning and management to support the delivery of strategic objectives and achievement of the team’s annual goals, priorities and quarterly deliverables, contributing to enable safe and quality medical services globally.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:

  • Excellent organisational, management and analytical skills, specifically effective time management, problem solving, ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Demonstrable experience of project management in iNGO setting, specifically on project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Significant experience of effective stakeholder engagement and managing substantial projects or workplans comprised of complex, diverse tasks and priorities.
  • Sound judgement with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tasks in a pressured, resource-constrained and self-administrative environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and ability to present complex issues in a clear succinct manner.
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work effectively and collaboratively across diverse teams, functions, offices and organizations.
  • Proven ability to work with a high degree of flexibility and autonomy, tackling new areas with confidence and leading on engaging stakeholders across all levels.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Save the Children.
  • High level of computer literacy, including internet and other web-based sources and Microsoft Office.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office suite, incl Excel to analyse data
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Project management qualification and diverse experience of managing projects, people and budgets.
  • Expertise in project management and/or communications.
  • Familiarity with health and nutrition and/or clinical or pharmacy service delivery.
  • Familiarity with change and/or incident management in iNGO or complex organisation.
  • Working proficiency in a second language, preferably French, Spanish or Arabic

We can offer circa £38,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
