JOB PURPOSE

The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) is seeking a Project Officer for implementing its current and future projects and programs in line with donor requirements and with ARDD’s policies and standards. The Project Officer’s time will be 60% dedicated for project implementation, 30% for reporting, researching and collecting relevant project data, and 10% M&E. He/She will work under the direct supervision of the Program Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Project implementation

· Ensure the timely implementation of assigned projects;

· Develop project work plans in line with the approved project document, and budget;

· Monitor progress of assigned projects and suggest necessary adjustments and management responses in coordination with the Programs Manager;

· Collect all supporting projects documentation and financial records in a timely manner in close cooperation with the Program Manager;

· Conduct regular field visits to ongoing projects;

· Track project and programs expenditure;

· Respond to and address partner’s queries, in close coordination with the Programs
Manager;

· Engage with the target audience and beneficiaries of projects and programs with the aim to achieve high levels of ownership.

Coordination and provision of support

· Provide guidance to field staff in relation to project implementation, monitoring of activities, communication and reaching out to the project and programs beneficiaries

· Coordinate consultants’ assignments in the implementation of specific project related activities, such as trainings, surveys, assessment as well as others

· Support the Programs Manager and the Head of Programs in attending Government, partners and NGO meetings related to project activities

· Support in identifying and using qualitative and quantitative tools to measure impact of projects whenever needed.

· Support in carrying out monitoring activities as well as end of projects evaluations.

· Conduct training for CBOs/CSOs as relevant and in line with the Project Officer skills and experience.

· Facilitate and Coordinate logistics for all projects training courses, seminars and workshops

· Support in the development of ARDD youth and women’s networks in addition to other forums.

· Any other task deemed relevant to the Head of Programs.

Reporting

· Conduct projects needs assessment when required.

· Perform projects facts sheet and briefing notes.

· Draft monthly, quarterly and annual narrative reports in line with donor requirements.

· Gather, analyse and synthesize data and information as required.

· Support in developing concept notes and project proposals.

· Prepare content material for the media department.

QUALIFICATIONS

· At least Bachelor’s degree in political science, human rights, business administration, management or related field

· At least 5 years of work experience in implementing development projects, with a national or international organization

· Experience in managing donor funded projects and programs

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

· Proven experience of project management including technical and financial aspects

· Fluent in Arabic and English

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Arabic and English

· Computer literacy

· Ability to work with people from various cultural and social backgrounds

· Cultural sensitivity
