Main Purpose of the Job

The Report Writer is to mainly work together with Project Managers to produce high quality deliverables (such as Inception Reports, Final Reports, Evaluation/Policy Briefs, Infographics and any other required reports) before submission to Managing Director and Clients. The drafting of the Reports must be done as per AAN’s template and in compliance with the clients requirements and expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Create, edit and deliver compelling technical reports to UN agencies, bi/multilateral donors and other INGOs.

  2. Conduct research and gather information required to develop report content.

  3. Revise and edit content developed by different writers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the reports flow and maintain a consistent tone throughout.

  4. Work to develop graphical content needed to enhance the look and feel of the reports.

  5. Follow up with team members and management for feedback and revisions, and to ensure that the report stays on schedule.

  6. Assemble the final text, graphics, exhibits, and supporting documents into an attractive, client-ready package.

  7. Undertake necessary desk review of essential Programme documents (Inception Report, logframe, TOC, Progress Reports, and any other important document) to be provided by AAN (and where required refer to web-based sources) to understand the context, the Programme and evaluation expectations to guide in the creation of relevant reports.

  8. Review qualitative notes of other international team members to transform/integrate it into draft Evaluation Report.

  9. Lead in preparing complete Draft Evaluation Report as per AAN’s provided Report Template and in compliance with the client/donor standards/template

  10. Share the reports with Evaluation Coordinators and Project Team Leads for review. Additionally, revise the report to incorporate feedback/suggestion by the TL’s before submission to UNICEF.

  11. Revise and finalize Evaluation Reports to address feedback (track change and clean versions, with comments responded by AAN) from UNICEF and TL’s before final submission to UNICEF.

  12. To oversee/advise the drafting of internal ‘Project Completion Report’ for all assignments along with Project Delivery Team/External Resources;

  13. Review bid/proposal submissions for assessment/improvement of language, presentation and clients’ bidding requirements

  14. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Requirements

  1. Excellent report writing skills, preferably in writing evaluation reports, editing and proofreading skills.

  2. At least Masters’ degree preferably social sciences from a reputable and recognized university.

  3. At least ten (10) years of similar work experience, preferably with consulting entities and development contractors, particularly UNICEF

  4. At least five years’ experience in research and evaluation preferred.

  5. Computer Proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, other relevant software)

  6. Ability to work independently and as a part of diverse teams
