Position description

Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, is a world leading independent policy institute based in London. As a global think tank, our mission is to help build a sustainably secure, prosperous and just world. We are now looking for a Research Proposal and Impact Manager to support the institute in putting forward winning funding proposals for its priority areas of research, and in monitoring, evaluating and communicating the impact of its research activities.

Reporting into the Managing Director of Research Partnerships, this role is central to Chatham House’s funding success. The ideal candidate is interested in international affairs, driven and outstanding at presenting research aims and impact.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Review and edit project proposals drafted by in-house researchers in advance of submission to ensure adherence to donor requirements;
  • Coordinate inputs and draft proposals for multi-team research proposals;
  • Maintain and expand a library of proposal templates and reporting metrics;
  • Provide technical expertise in logframe development, Gannt charts, M&E indicators and impact narratives;
  • Support researchers with project donor reporting and pull together evidence of impact for institute-wide communication;
  • Offer monitoring and evaluation input to projects, where needed.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • Significant experience of proposal writing, M&E, and impact reporting;
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail;
  • Experienced with preparing logframes and technical funding proposals;
  • Passion for a broad spectrum of international affairs;
  • Ability to multitask with multiple deadlines;
  • Ability to garner support and influence when collaborating with internal and external partners;
  • Self starter;
  • Good IT skills including word, excel and outlook.

Desirable Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience with crafting visuals and infographics for reports;
  • Experience working with databases.

Salary: £48,000

Contract: Full time (35 hours per week), Permanent
