About the Young Professionals Program

One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program offers high-performing African graduates meaningful internships and training opportunities at a high-performing, mission-driven organization. Our internships are paid and all interns can expect to receive substantive work assignments working on high-impact projects that support One Acre Fund’s operations.

When joining, interns will participate in an onboarding program and receive training on how to design and execute projects. About the Role

The Product Management Intern will help deliver thousands of chickens to our farmers by working with many teams in TUBURA. As the Product Management Intern, you will analyze the data on chicken quality and provide reports on the quality of our chickens before these are delivered to our farmers, and will support the preparation and execution of chicken deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the field team and the logistics team to manage chicken deliveries
  • Analyze quality control data, report performance during the growth period of chickens and make recommendations for improvement
  • Participate in team syncs and help discuss issues and identifying solutions before and during chicken deliveries
  • Help recording field challenges, preparing communications and implementing solutions

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Experience managing operational projects (events, training, conferences)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, supply chain or related field 
  • Good command of Excel/Google sheets (knows basic formulas for data analysis and is comfortable managing project trackers)
  • Enjoy working with multiple colleagues and teams
  • Experience with field work is an asset but not mandatory
  • Fluent in Kinyarwanda, fluent in English preferred but not mandatory

Preferred Start Date

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, start dates can vary significantly by role. We are adapting rapidly to Covid-19 and most of our team is now working remotely. Given the changing environment, we will appreciate your flexibility in confirming a start date.

Compensation

Interns will be provided with a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract.
