The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the– Awards & Fundraising Coordinator, Safe Back to School (SB2S)at Home-based with ability to adjust working hours to UK timezone.

Scope

Reports to: Team Lead

Staff reporting to this post: None

Role Dimensions:

The role holder will need to work closely with many different staff across the organisation and the Save the Children member organisations and will need to build a network of key contacts relevant to their role and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key internal relationships: SB2S TT colleagues, SC Awards Lead, SC Awards and Fundraising colleagues (Centre, Members and COs).

Key external relationships: Private sector donors and other/institutional donors.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ progressive experience in the NGO sector in international development; direct field experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills are essential
  • Existing understanding of Save the Children’s federated structure, finance and award management systems and processes
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships resulting in securing significant new opportunities for the organisation
  • Proven influencing skills with the ability to communicate compliance requirements to stakeholders in the most appropriate way
  • Ability to explain complex issues to both staff and peers
  • Ability to manage a varied workload quickly and efficiently, and work effectively under pressure to organise and prioritise work for yourself and others to ensure deadlines are met
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to propose solutions and work with others to overcome challenges
  • A proven ability to conceptualise and ground abstract ideas in operational realities
  • A sharp intellect and an ability to discern strategic opportunities to build the profile of the team’s work, as well as new opportunities
  • Commitment to Save the Children values
  • Proven track record in securing funding from institutional donors
  • Experience in writing successful concept notes and proposals

Desirable

  • Experience in financial accounting
  • Project management skills, particularly including planning
  • Experience of working in a complex international organisation
  • Experience working for Save the Children
  • Language skills, in particular Spanish, French, or Arabic

We can offer circa £ 28,000 per annum ( If based in UK) with an option of flexible of working hours
