Spark Legal Network is looking to recruit a dynamic, pro-active and experienced

Senior Legal Consultant (m/f/d)

to strengthen the team on a full-time basis, starting at short notice (preferably from June/July 2021).

The successful candidate will have experience in EU legal consultancy work (preferably in the area of DG JUST and/or HOME). He/she will be working remotely (but will be based in our Brussels office as soon as this is possible considering the current COVID situation).

As a Senior Legal Consultant at Spark you will, amongst other things, engage in the following tasks:

  • Actively contributing to Spark’s Business Development Strategy, including leading the acquisition of new EU projects and studies through tendering;
  • Execution of EU projects and studies, including:
    • Management of project teams;
    • Coordination of cross-border legal and policy research and analysis;
    • Coordination and performance of (comparative) legal analysis;
    • Drafting of project reports and presentations.
  • Communication with a wide range of high-profile clients and partners;
  • Actively staying up to date with relevant EU law and policy developments.

  • A passion for and deep understanding of EU law (at least a Masters degree in Law) and its link to EU policy;
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in EU legal and policy (consultancy) work, including project management and report drafting (experience in tender acquisition and in the area of DG JUST/HOME is a plus);
  • Leadership skills;
  • Excellent research and analysis skills;
  • A strong work ethic, an enthusiastic, flexible attitude and excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Interest and ability to take an active role in Spark’s growing business;
  • Fluent English language skills.
