Chemonics seeks a Senior Malaria Demand Planning Analyst in support of the $9.5B USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement Supply Management project (GHSC-PSM) based in Arlington, VA. The Senior Malaria Demand Planning Analyst conducts in-depth analytics, summarizes and visualizes results and communicates with both internal GHSC-PSM stakeholders, suppliers, and our key clients. In this role, you will have unique visibility into data across dozens of partner countries as well as the inner-workings of the Global Supply Chain (GSC), resulting in an exceptional opportunity to use your analytical and data visualization skills to make a significant impact. You will have responsibility for consolidating the demand signals communicated from GHSC-PSM project management units, collaborating across teams to produce demand forecasts, and supporting sourcing strategies. GHSC-PSM is the primary vehicle through which the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) procures and provides health commodities for countries receiving U.S. government foreign assistance. The project also provides technical assistance to improve the efficiency, reach, and sustainability of in-country supply chains and is supported with funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, USAID’s family planning and reproductive health program, and USAID’s maternal and child health program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generate rolling projection of orders the Global Supply Chain team will be required to fulfill

  • Independently liaise with Forecasting and Supply Planning (FASP) team to track countries submitting Country Supply Plans and decide when the cyclical planning process may proceed

  • Collaborate with FASP to identify areas of improvement with the timing of processes, specific country issues, or the flow and/or structure of data; responsible for making recommendations and project managing implementation of solutions identified

  • Combine unstructured datasets by developing and using algorithms to standardize data fields and combine multiple data sources

  • Analyze demand statistics for trends and anomalies that require further root cause understanding; research root causes and make recommendations for further analysis and data collection

  • Facilitate, and lead as requested, product planning reviews with stakeholders, presenting forward plans that enable communications with suppliers as well as management of procurement and inventory

  • Participate in supplier meetings to communicate GHSC-PSM forecasts and assumptions

  • Along with the FASP team, provide remote technical assistance and support for country forecasting for new and unique products

  • Provide analysis and communication of demand data to fulfill client requests and enable collaboration with the global community

  • Lead calculation and analysis for aggregated country supply plan metrics and ensure accuracy of data

  • Respond to regular and ad hoc client data and presentation requirements

  • Develop presentations and attend and lead meetings with USAID

  • Summarize data and communicate with suppliers through collaborative planning processes

  • Provide data analytics to support sourcing strategy and participate in strategy meetings

  • Innovate the GSC demand planning process and the method by which communication is shared with countries and suppliers

  • Identify areas for demand planning improvement, particularly in regard to data management and analysis; make recommendations for new approaches and develop or enhance tools to enable identified solutions

  • Develop solutions that meet client needs and respond immediately to urgent challenges

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. A Master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, data analytics, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in data management, data collection or big data required

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in HIV treatment and/or lab program and/or HIV supply chain for developing countries preferred

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Planning, including demand forecasting, inventory strategy, inventory batch management and distribution planning

  • Understanding of transactional order management systems, including inventory management and order processing

  • Experience working in a client-facing role with regular data-sharing and presentation requirements

  • Experience developing work plans, timelines, benchmarks, and problem-solving critical project management issues with a team

  • Ability to analyze and present data in infographics and data visualizations; knowledge of PowerBI and/or Tableau or similar software strongly preferred

  • Ability to effectively lead meetings and demonstrated presentation skills

  • Experience working with USAID projects and/or other international organizations working on public health related projects preferred

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team under time pressure

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing

  • Proven analysis and organization skills working in a cross-cultural environment

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel required, knowledge of Excel VBA, Python or R or similar software required

  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
