Main purpose of job:

The Corporate Services Officer will divide administrative responsibilities to support the operations and procedures of the Corporate Services Team. The job holder will report to the Human Resources Network Manager.  

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:

To assist the HR Network Manager and support the process for arrival and departure inductions and administrative matters for UK and LE staff throughout network.

To provide support and administrative assistance to the Estates Manager and Estates Team.

To monitor and maintain the Corporate Services channel on Teams.

To provide administrative support, as required, to Corporate Services Director.

To provide resilience and coverage for the HR Network Manager.

To provide Ad hoc support for Payroll, Healthcare and coverage for Finance team as needed.

To provide Ad hoc coverage for Personal Assistant to High Commissioner and Deputy High Commissioner, as required.

Essential on arrival:

  • Adept in technology to perform data entry, manage team calendars and perform administrative skills.
  • A background in administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be capable of interacting effectively with all levels of management.
  • The ability to write clear, to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences and lead on best practices in a positive way.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Work effectively and flexibly with others and be a team player.
  • Be reliable, positive and open to new ways of working.
  • Have the ability to anticipate needs and complete important tasks without having to be asked.

Level of language required: Strong English language skills, both oral and written.

Must have the legal status to live and work in Canada. For open-ended positions

This position is a Maternity Leave Cover for a period of approximately twelve (12) months.  The British High Commission will provide the successful candidate with at least four (4) weeks’ notice in advance of the end of employment.
