Main purpose of job:

To support commercial and operational activities of DIT in Brazil. Provide logistic assistance to senior management in DIT and British Consulate General Sao Paulo.

 

Roles and responsibilities :

 

  • Conduct market and sector researches, producing reports when necessary;
  • Desk research using the internet, newspapers and specialised magazines gathering information for the team and producing relevant market knowledge to UK companies;
  • Provide support in the organisation of events (trade missions and fairs), official visits, seminars and workshops. Manage guests lists and RSVP;
  • Assist the team with business support for UK companies in the different sectors;
  • Keep Data Hub (Internal system for Customer Relationship Management) databases updated;
  • Coordinate across DIT Brazil information gathering to generate performance reports and record of activities delivered by sector teams

 

 

Essential on arrival:

  • 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate student in International Relations, Political Science, International Trade or Business Administration are desirable.
  • Microsoft Office literate.
  • Advanced English.
  • Pro-active self-starter, organized, responsible, communicative and creative, team player, wiling to learn and receive feedback, enthusiastic “people person”.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience on managing guests lists and RSVP.
  • Knowledge on commercial pipeline management.
  • Experience on collecting, organizing and presenting data for commercial contacts.

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.

Working hours 30 per week, no more than 6 hours per day, starting and finishing times flexible within 08.00 – 18.00. Intern must leave work premises no later than 18:00.
