Overview

Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an Accounts Payable Representative to join their team in North Wilkesboro, NC.  In this position, you will focus on reimbursements and disbursements.  You will be responsible for processing expense reports, travel advances, and payment requests, as well as disbursements, including check, direct deposit, EFT (Electronic Funds Transfers) and wire payments. We are looking for someone who can understand policy and apply it in unique circumstances, ensuring we maintain compliance.  Join the team and use your gifts and talents for the Kingdom!

 

A day in the life of an Accounts Payable Represtative:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

 

In the role of Accounts Payable Representative, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Learn and gain a thorough understanding of Samaritan’s Purse travel policy in order to audit and process travel expense reimbursements to ensure accuracy and policy compliance
  • Use financial accounting software, online banking website, and workflow software program to process expense reimbursements and daily payment disbursements
  • Create domestic and international wire payment templates based on submitted information via online website with exceptional accuracy
  • Serve as a liaison between our bank or wiring agent and the payee to resolve issues related to returned funds when needed
  • Serve as backup to other staff as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma plus 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Critical thinking skills to comprehend and apply written policies to various circumstances in order to determine compliance
  • Teachable, willing to learn and accept feedback
  • Computer proficiency, acute attention to detail, and general math skills
  • Superior customer service skills and strong communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Ability to interact with various departments, where tact and diplomacy are essential to operations
  • Instinct to take initiative to ensure job duties are completed timely and accurately
  • High degree of professionalism, diplomacy and discretion in handling confidential information
