Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the CSDP Finance Section Manager (FSM) the Accounts Payable Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing a client focused service to Missions within the London Common Service Delivery Point (LDN-CSDP) grouping.

This requires delivery planning, organizing and supervising the work of full-time and part-time LE05 Accounts Payable Assistants; undertaking periodic and year-end procedures for the processing of accounts, claims, expenses, invoices, hospitality, Specified Purpose Accounts, PAYE, reconciliation of Asset & Liability accounts and commitments etc. This includes monitoring the recovery of duty and taxes in line with local policies at the client missions.

 

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and Curriculum Vitae (CV) how they meet each of these essential qualifications. Education:
2 x A levels or equivalent

Language:
• Fluent* in English (oral, written, comprehension).

* Fluency will be assessed by a variety of means including written assessment and interview.

Experience:
• A minimum 2 years related work experience in an accounting / accounts payable environment dealing with a high volume of transactions.
• Supervisory experience in planning, organising projects or supervising a team.
• Experience with SAP or equivalent software.

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written or online examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations, psychometric assessment and/or reference checks.

Knowledge/Abilities/Competencies:
• Ability to maintain expenditure records, auditing and invoice processing
• Ability to manage priorities, work under pressure, be thorough, systematic and organized
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable and show initiative.
• Ability to work in a team environment, ability to manage and supervise a team
• Understanding of financial policy, processes and procedures
• Analytical thinking
• Client focus with ability to communicate both orally and in writing with people at all levels.
• Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office and Data Bases
• Effective Interactive Communication.

 

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

• Additional Finance experience.
• Reporting from SAP or equivalent software, download/manipulate data.
• Management or Supervisory Courses
• University degree or certification (in an accounting environment ideally or in the later stages of finishing studies)
• Fluency in French both orally and in writing.

Operational Requirements:
• Occasional overtime will be required.
• Occasional international travel may be required.

 

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, worked Monday to Friday at time to be arranged by the supervisor.
