The European Textile Technology Platform (Textile ETP) brings together more than 200 companies, research and technology organisations, higher education institutions and clusters from the textile and clothing sector from across Europe. We act as a think tank, strategic connector, intelligence and funding access provider for our members. We are managing open innovation and learning communities in strategic fields such as sustainability/circular economy or smart textiles.

We also work intensively with European policy, stakeholders from related sectors and the media to promote the fascination and economic potential of textile research and innovation which touches almost every aspect of life and business, from fashion and interiors to healthcare, sports, personal protection, transport, construction, energy or agriculture.

We are looking to hire a dedicated Community Manager to join our small dynamic team. As our Community Manager, you will coordinate the interaction with our members and strategic programme subscribers, organise physical and online events and support our external communication and EU project work.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Operational management of our strategic open innovation programmes incl. organisation of the Smart Textiles Masterclass and relaunch of circular, biobased textiles programmes;
  • Organisation of community webinars and other physical and online events;
  • Management of our SharePoint-based communication systems with members and strategic programme subscribers;
  • Support to the development and implementation of communication campaigns, EU projects and other activities in close collaboration with other members of the team.

To succeed as our Community Manager, you should be a self-starter, able to think and work independently and creatively, be reliable in planning and implementing your tasks, able to listen, give and take feedback and constructive criticism independent of hierarchy, be open and supportive towards colleagues and members, be committed to and accountable for the quality of your work, while not being afraid to ask for help.

Your specific skills and competences:

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills professionally developed in a European/international networking environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and networking skills;
  • Ability and willingness to quickly absorb new subject matter knowledge and technical skills with an eye to the constant improvement of processes and outcomes;
  • Experience in events organisation and promotion;
  • Excellent office and communications IT skills (MS Office incl. SharePoint, Teams & other videoconferencing tools)
  • Experience with major online and social media communication tools and strategies
  • Good time management, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible outcomes-oriented team-player

Education

Bachelor or higher degree in Management, Communications or equivalent professional experience

Required experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in network/community management or communications, preferably within a European environment
  • Good knowledge of EU research/innovation programmes/projects and/or a passion for technology, innovation and creativity in textile or related sectors are a strong plus

Languages

  • Fluent proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of additional widely spoken EU languages is a plus
