Experience / Training
You have a minimum of 7 years of solid experience in development and humanitarian project management and experience with various donors (eg. EU/ECHO, DANIDA, DFID) particularly of their grant application, proposal writing and reporting procedures.
You have strategic and decision-making experience. You have developed good skills for planning, organizing resources and leading the staff in the field so that goals can be achieved.
You have a relevant educational background. You possess excellent communication, coordination as well as networking and facilitation skills. You have good analytical skills and you can handle stressful situations. You have good cultural understanding and the ability to work in a challenging multicultural environment.
Project cycle and financial management experience as well as team/human resources management skills are essential, as well as excellent French and English speaking and writing capability. You must be self-supporting in computers and possess a valid international driving licence.
Proven experience in the capacity-building of local partners, ideally of Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies and local branches and regional experience in the Sahel context is an advantage.
Salary
The Country Manager reports to the DRC Deputy Head of Africa Region based in Dakar.
The contract will be administered in accordance with the Danish Red Cross Terms and Conditions for Delegates. The duty station is Niamey, which is a family duty station.
The ideal starting date of the assignment is 15th June 2021 and the length of the contract is 24 months with the possibility of extension.
The monthly salary will depend on experience and qualifications and we offer furnished housing and an instalment package.
