Overview

Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is seeking a National Church Relations Manager to join our ministry! This person is a strategist on a national level that will lead and manage a team of four, high-level regional staff to grow our national church relationships.  He/She will focus on national church and denominational partnerships, megachurch partnerships as well as the retention of our current church partners.  Are you someone who has experience in building partnerships with national organizations or church denominations?  Are you relational with experience leading strong, influential teams?  Are you a networker who understands how to build a national strategy and cast a vision that sparks others to join in?  If this describes your passion and calling, we encourage you to respond.

**This position requires frequent travel, approximately 70-80 days annually

A day in the life of a National Church Relations Manager:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of National Church Relations Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Lead and hold accountable the Operation Christmas Child Church Relations team to maintain, grow, and develop current national partners as well as foster new strategic national church and denominational relations partnerships that increase project awareness and participation, generating shoebox gifts and financial contributions through such relationships
  • Lead team to support field staff and volunteers with effective church relations training and equipping for thousands of year-round Church Relations Volunteers
  • Lead and hold accountable the Operation Christmas Child megachurch engagement team to maintain, grow, and develop current megachurches partnerships as well as foster new strategic megachurch partnerships that increase project awareness and participation, generating shoebox gifts and financial contributions through such relationships
  • Lead the retention and growth in shoeboxes and financial contributions of churches that participate in OCC annually
  • Lead the development of greater number of and deepening of Operation Christmas Child national church or church-related promotional partnerships that generate shoebox gifts and Gospel opportunities as well as local opportunities for volunteers to support such relationships
  • Lead staff to further develop and deepen volunteer teams related to church relations. Lead team to support field staff and volunteers with effective church relations training and equipping year-round Church Relations Volunteers to engage past-participating and prospective church partners
  • Lead staff to further develop and deepen volunteer teams to engage, equip, and support Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child Project Leaders
  • Lead the annual hiring, training, and management of associates and/or staff who engage churches via phone calls and email where there is no local coverage of Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child year-round Church Relations Volunteers
  • Lead the collaboration of church engagement with other Samaritan’s Purse departments
  • Lead the Church Relations and megachurch engagement teams to represent and promote Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child at appropriate national conferences and events focused on audiences of pastors and church leaders
  • Travel to church-related conferences and events to represent and promote Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child and for quality assurance of optimizing paid sponsorships, affirming and holding accountable vendors to advertising opportunity
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Highly relational with experience managing high-level/national relationships
  • Strategic thinker with a marketing and network development mindset
  • Proven ability to lead and develop others
  • Able to lead projects and initiatives involving others both on the Operation Christmas Child team and across Samaritan’s Purse
  • Established national church network and/or able to develop them
  • Prior experience working with megachurches (preferred)

Education & Experience

Master’s degree and/or 10+ years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Twelve hours of Biblical studies from an accredited institution strongly preferred.

Job Location: Boone, NC (No remote option)

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: 70-80 days annually
