EVPA is a growing organisation with a team of 20+ full-time dedicated professionals. To strengthen our team, we are opening a vacancy for a paid CIP internship at EVPA Impact Funds Initiative (IFI).

EVPA is a European membership organisation of Investors for Impact. Since the start, social impact funds have been at the heart of EVPA’s membership. Over the last 15 years, they have made a lot of progress in their work and approach. The Impact Funds Initiative (IFI) initiates a range of activities, specifically targeted at the Impact Funds in the EVPA member base.

Job description

EVPA is looking for an Intern to support the promotion, design and implementation of projects, events, marketing materials and to assist the research development for the Impact Funds Initiative.

The position falls in the Community and Market Development Department (CMD). As such, the IFI intern will be both reporting directly to the Impact Funds Initiative Lead and the Community and Market Development Lead. In this role the intern will also be working closely with our Policy (EU), Marketing and Knowledge departments as well as with the Training Academy.

The ideal candidate has some background knowledge in social investing, entrepreneurship and/or VC (Venture Capital) investing and has a genuine interest in exploring the social impact investing sector and the venture philanthropy approach.

This is a full-time position, based in Brussels (Belgium).

Roles & responsibilities

The IFI Intern will be supporting the Impact Funds Initiative (IFI), as part of a small but dedicated team. In particular the intern support will be focussing on the “fundraising for funds” project, starting from May 2021 onwards, but might also include activities more broadly connected to IFI.

Main responsibilities include:

1) Support with background, database and desk-research:

  • Support the team in collecting and analysing data from both the existing EVPA databases and external literature on the topic of “fundraising for funds”.
  • Collect, take minutes and analyse inputs given by EVPA members in dedicated sessions and working groups on the topic.
  • Contribute to the systematisation of the insights and data gathered into written documents and dissemination materials for practitioners.

2) Support with organising, marketing and following up on project activities:

  • Support the IFI team in the design and organisation of events on the topic of fundraising and/or events promoted by IFI members and the EVPA Annual Conference.
  • Support with administrative activities like sending out invitations, following-up registrations, collecting evaluations and managing communications with participants and IFI members.
  • Support the design and organisation of the IFI news in the EVPA monthly newsletter, in close cooperation with EVPA marketing department.
  • Promote the conversations with members on the IFI Slack channel with over 140 participants.
  • Collect, administer and Analyse data collected through the IFI events and evaluations to gather new marketing insights.

3) Other activities:

  • Update the website section of the Impact Funds Initiatives and the internal CRM tool (Salesforce), providing monthly statistics to the IFI team.
  • Support in administrative and reporting obligations for EU projects
  • Assisting the IFI team with any other tasks that are performed in the IFI or in EVPA general.

Skills & qualities

  • University degree related to business, economics, social economy or social sciences
  • Basic knowledge of Venture Philanthropy and Social Investment (or demonstrable curiosity and willingness to learn);
  • Ability to work in a structured and accurate manner and capability to handle administrative duties;
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills (especially in a remote work setting);
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a number of competing tasks and responsibilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people, willingness to work with different kind of partners from different countries and understand their needs.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English, any other European language is a plus;
  • IT literacy in Microsoft Office (esp. Excel); any experience with data systems and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Positive attitude and solution-oriented thinking.
